Special Guests & Activities

The MDO curriculum works to expose the children to a variety of age-appropriate ideas and experiences.  Sometimes this means we pack our lunch and go on a field trip!  Some of our favorite field trips in the Knoxville area include:

• Hay Rides & Pumpkin Patches
• Cooking School
• Arts & Crafts Center
• Fort Kid

We also invite some of our community heroes to come and visit with us.  Firefighters and Police Officers are just a couple of our community workers that come to share their occupations and teach our students about safe behavior.

Throughout the school year we have many special days and activities.  Some of our favorite days include: UT Spirit Day, Pajama Day and Cowboy Day.  We also celebrate life as often as possible with birthday parties, pizza parties, pool parties and many other special events.
