For those who haven’t been there before, the Haw Ridge trail is a little over 11 miles of paved biking trail. There are two large hills in the trail that some will have to push their bikes up. Since this isn’t a race, individuals and families can bike at their own pace.

We plan to meet at Calhouns Restaurant (100 Melton Lake Peninsula Oak Ridge, TN) at 10am. We will park at the very back of their parking lot and start our ride from there. When exiting Calhouns parking lot, we take a left and ride the trail. After about 5 miles the trail exits into a parking lot where we will turn around and bike back to Calhouns. Upon arrival back at Calhouns we will eat lunch there. Since we will be arriving at different times, we won’t try to get a large table together.

If it rains or has been raining earlier that morning, the ride will be cancelled. The trail has quite a few curves in it and might not be safe for younger riders if the pavement is wet. Also, if the temperature is below 50 degrees we will cancel the ride as well.
