Students
Navigating students towards wholeness in Jesus.
Our mission at West Towne Christian Church is to navigate Knoxville towards wholeness in Jesus. As we focus that lens for middle and high school students we break that down to four foundational values: Discipleship, Missions, Community, and Connection.
Discipleship:
Our student ministry desires to invite students into a safe environment to explore their relationship with Jesus. We don’t want you to think what we think or believe what we believe. We are absolutely convinced that everybody and anybody will fall in love with the person of Jesus. We simply want to point students to the life of Jesus and cultivate real conversations about Jesus. Teaching how to think instead of what to think leads to real and lasting relationship with Jesus.
Missions:
An essential part of following Jesus is loving like Jesus did. We were never meant to simply go to church but Be the church. As a student ministry we seek to serve in our local community. Not that our community will know who we are but rather that they may encounter Jesus as we try our best to live out the way of Jesus.
Community:
All seasons of life are difficult, however the years of middle and high school are extremely socially formative years. Often times community is trying to be offered to students but we feel that in this season of life not only are we to provide our students with community but we must teach them how to build community. We aim to provide a safe environment for any student. No matter who you are we desire to give you a place to belong.
Connection:
We want to make sure that students know a relationship with Jesus and the Church is a two way street. We love because God loved us first. We don’t want to just invest in students when they come to us but we seek to meet them in their life. Our team of student ministers enjoy supporting our students by attending sporting events, musicals, competitions, and more.
We believe that these four values are best practiced by setting healthy rhythms. Our student ministry gathers every Sunday morning (9:30am – 10:15am), Sunday night (6pm – 8pm), and Wednesday night (6pm – 8pm).
Parents
At West Towne our experienced Student Ministry team understands that your teen needs acceptance and inspiration. We strive to make sure that the students at West Towne are active and involved with their peers and their adult leaders who serve as an example and an encouragement to them. We believe God has a plan for your child, and it is our goal to provide an environment that allows them to reach this potential.
Our Student Ministry currently meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30am-10:20am, Sunday nights from 6-8pm and Wednesday nights from 6-8pm. Come give us a try!
